STATESBORO, Ga. –  Each day brings the Paulson Stadium expansion project closer and closer to completion. The closing punch list is still long, but the most critical tasks include the addition of permanent safety railings on the mid-deck, installation of fans for the club level and site cleanup. Georgia Southern's 2014 Commencement ceremony on May 10th is scheduled to be the first event in the newly expanded Paulson Stadium.

228 – The mid-deck is comprised of 228 total pieces, a number which includes 70 base pieces, 58 riser sections and 28 walls. The pieces required three months of fabrication at the plant and seven weeks to erect. Pieces were lifted into place by a 275-ton crawler crane.

2,150 – Cubic yards of concrete placed for the support structures and concourse of the north stands which equates to a four-inch slab that would cover four football fields.

2,968 – Number of pieces of aluminum, both planks and brackets used for the new bleacher seats for the north stands. In addition to the bleacher seats, 822 new chair back seats have been installed on the north stands club level.
