2015 Football Schedule
NEW ORLEANS – The Georgia Southern Eagles will face two Power Five conference teams, four teams that played in bowl games a year ago and will host six home games in the 2015 football season.
The Sun Belt Conference announced the full 2015 schedule on Friday, and the Eagles have been selected to play two games on nationally televised ESPNU Thursday night broadcasts.
Georgia Southern will open the season at Big 12 member West Virginia and will also travel to Athens, Ga. to face SEC member Georgia on Nov. 21. Both teams played in bowl games a year ago.
The Eagles will also host a pair of teams that played in bowl games a year ago in Western Michigan and South Alabama. Texas State, who finished the season bowl eligible with a 7-5 record, will come to Statesboro for a Thursday night ESPNU national broadcast on Oct. 29.
GS will also air on ESPNU when they travel to Boone, N.C. to face rival Appalachian State the previous week.
The Eagles will close out the 2015 regular season at home against in-state rival Georgia State on Dec. 5.
All home games and all Sun Belt Conference games will once again air on the ESPN platform.
Network designations for the first three weeks of the season will be made by June 1st. Designations for weeks 4 through 14 will not be made until 12 days out from the contest. Non-conference away games will be dictated by the home team's conference contract.
