The Eagles were the first on the board, when a Christian Avant solo home run in the top of the first inning gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead. However, the Bobcats would respond with five runs in the bottom of the first inning.

In the top of the fourth inning, the Eagles would score five runs of their own, the first one when Noah Ledford reached home during a double play, the next two coming from a Kyler Hultgren two-RBI double down the right field line, plating Sam Blancato and Austin Thompson and the final two coming from a Jason Swan two-RBI double to left field, scoring Hultgren and Jesse Sherrill, giving the Eagles a 6-5 lead. The Bobcats would tie the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a solo home run.
