| Wednesday, September 3 Inaugural Kickoff Balloon Launch 9:30 a.m All True Blue fans are invited to help us countdown to kick-off with a blue and white balloon launch at Julia P. Bryant Elementary School. Campus True Blue Block Party hosted by Georgia Southern University UPB and Georgia Southern Athletics 12 p.m.-2 p.m. Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff will have a chance to win prizes as they participate in different activities at the True Blue Block Party from 12 p.m.–2 p.m. in front of the bookstore. There will be an inflatable obstacle course along with a dunking tank, money machine (for raffle tickets), Minute to Win it Games, cheers and chants from the GSU cheerleaders and different raffles for students, faculty and staff. | |
| Thursday, September 4 Judging for the True Blue Spirit Business Competition - winners recognized at halftime of the game One winner will be selected from each of the following categories: 1. Most Spirited 2. Most Creative 3. Best Window Display Downtown True Blue Tailgate 6–10 p.m. - Tailgate Map The City of Statesboro and Georgia Southern Athletics will provide True Blue fans with the opportunity to enjoy a tailgate with live music, multiple vendors, arts and crafts for the Junior Eagles and traditional game day football cheers led by Georgia Southern cheerleaders and GUS. Vendors will be set up, the band will take the stage and activities will begin at 6 p.m. and all speakers will take the stage between 8 and 8:15 p.m. Order of speakers: Statesboro Mayor Jan Moore, President Dr. Brooks Keel, Head Football Coach Willie Fritz and Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein East Vine and Railroad Street will be blocked off starting at 3:30 p.m. | |
